The one thing that has always confused me in my study of Iron Maiden’s history – ok, ONE of the things that has always confused me – is the band’s continual ignoring of their second album Killers except for two songs (namely ‘Wrathchild’ and ‘Killers’).
Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson, broadcaster Sir Trevor McDonald and actress Helen Baxendale urged companies to sponsor one of the phone lines run by a missing people’s charity, at an event last night.
Missing People, which works to find and safeguard missing people and support their loved ones, wants firms to show their support by sponsoring a phone for £10,000. It has 12 lines available for sponsorship.
(Friday Fave is a weekly series of my personal favourite Maiden tracks)
This, the first Friday Fave, has to be my favourite Maiden track. Written by my favourite member (Adrian Smith, natch), and from my favourite album (Somewhere In Time). It is (as you’d have noticed by now), ‘Wasted Years’.
This is certainly interesting; I’m probably behind the times in not knowing about this, but oh well. If you own it, let me know what it’s like by commenting!
